1st Wedding Anniversary

How time flies! It has been a year since I got married!!! Well...people have asked me how is marriage life and all. My reply would always be..."Like that lor...". That does not mean that it's a bad thing hahaha. But perhaps Rich and me have known each other for too long...so there weren't any explosive argument on who shd do what chores, or complaint abt the mismatch in expectations blah blah blah....

Instead, what we have is a contented and blissful everyday life, with Rich vacuuming, moping and ironing away...hahaha... I have found the perfect husband! Happy One Year Anniversary sweetie!

Handmade CD Holder

I've always enjoyed doing handicraft since I was young... Recently, I tried to make CD holders and this is my first product. Everything is handmade, from folding of paper into shape, to the little golden tricket with the cupcake. Cute right?

Shi Lun & Zihui's Wedding Montage

Special thanks to Shi Lun and Zihui for giving us a chance to be part of your wedding. Wish you a happy and blessed marriage!! We are working hard on the video now....But here's the photo montage for a quick preview!

New beginning...

To those who knows me well, this announcement is kinda belated haha...*Drum roll*....I, Audrey Lam, have finally tendered and moved on after talking abt it for what seems like years!!
Although I would miss my friends at DSTA dearly and I honestly didn't know what lies ahead, I decided that regardless whether it is for the better or for the worse, I have to be brave and take the plunge.
4 Oct 10 marked my first day at my new workplace. Time really flies! It's almost coming to a mnth!! I am learning new things and for once, realised that ministries don't move as slowly as I thought all along hahaha. But I don't regret the change ! "Change is the only constant in life"...My only complaint is that I have to wear prim and proper office attire everyday....so painful! *Winkz*

雨季

Since JC times when I joined Hwa Chong Chinese Drama Society (黄城夜韵), I've cultivated an interest in watching watching drama productions, especially musicals!! Over the years, I've seen many many big productions, like Phantom, Sound of Music, Oliver Twist, 雪狼湖...But I must say I'm very proud that Singapore has many many good ones too...like Forbidden City, 天冷就回来and the upcoming 雨季!!

雨季 was the first Mandarin Musical written in Singapore ever in 1996. Like 天冷就回来, it was created by Liang Wern Fook, Singer and Composer Jimmy Ye, theatre director Alec Tok and celebrated producer James Toh. Kit Chan, will lead the 30-member cast along with Broadway Star George Chan and Singapore-Hong Kong theatre luminary Jeffrey Low in this much anticipated production.

The story goes like this....1950s Singapore: the innocent relationship of a pair of young lovers is sabotaged by strikes organized by Chinese high school students, a marriage of convenience, strong parental disapproval; and a third party waiting desperately in vain for his unrequited love.

1980s Singapore: past grievances and mistakes continue to haunt the younger generation. Only a personal sacrifice and the revelation of an undelivered love letter holds the promise of resolution.
However, no one knows when the rain will cease in December.

Although I feel that the story seems abit cheesy and Kit seems abit old for this role, I won't miss it..I've heard the song on radio lately and am looking to hearing Kit sing live! Do go to Toy Factory website (http://www.toyfactory.com.sg/joolma/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=117&Itemid=98) to listen to the songs!

Adding labels

Oohh I think I very very "sua-gu". Been trying to categorise my blog entries but didn't know how to do it. Finally found a nice website that taught me how to achieve it easily!!!

The steps are as follows:
1) Add a label for your post
2) Add gadget "Labels" under Settings

and voila!!

Anyway got a new interest lately and may start another blog to share it (will continue to maintain this blog to feature my more fun aspect of life though!)...Keep a look out for it!!

You Are Beautiful!!

I am a self-declared drama addict and I am proud of it. Haha...Today, I suddenly realise that despite my love for drama, I've never written about it! So since I'm in the mood to blog today, I shall introduce a Korean Drama I enjoy lately...."You are Beautiful".
Synopsis:
The story started with this idol group, known as "A.N.Jell", looking for a new member. However, the new member (Go Mi Niam) suffered from injuries at the last moment and had to recuperate in US. His twin sister (Go Mi Nyu) stepped in to disguise as him as she did not want to jeopardise his dreams to stardom. The story continued to show the behind the scene life of the group...how they supported each other...and of cos...how their love grows.
Why I like it?
Well, I must first confess I don't usually like Korean drama cos they are draggy, weepy and korean men simply don't appeal to me. But this drama is different! With only 16 episodes, the pace at which the story unrolls is very fast....sometimes almost too fast cos I want to see more of ANJELL!! In every episode, there'll definitely be a scene that makes me smile from my heart. The songs are also surprisingly catchy...my personal favorite is a very sad song called "Without Words". Last of all...needless to say, there are some really cute guys in the show. YUM!

First up, Hwang Tae Kyung, leader of ANJELL. He always have this cool cool perfectionist image, but deep down, he is a sensitive and thoughtful guy! He is willing to sew a pig's nose on a rabbit soft-toy. How rare is that! The only thing I don't quite like abt Tae Kyung is the excessive use of eye liner. Haha

Goh Mi Nam/Goh Mi Nyu. Mi Nyu's dream is to become a nun when she has grown up. But for the sake of her brother, she was willing to delay her dreams. Abit blur, abit timid...but very lovable gal.

In many drama, there is always someone who is adores the female lead, but could nvr compete with the male lead....Shin Woo is that character in "You Are Beautiful". His gentle and sweet nature makes him my fav character in the show! Love him!

Jeremy, the sunshine boy. He is the last of the 3 guys to discover that Mi Nam is actually a gal. Before that, he was already attracted to Mi Nam, but he kept resisting it cos he didn't want to be gay! hahaa.......very cute boy.

Another Flyer Experience

It seems that everytime I go to the Singapore Flyer, it's to help out in some YEC Community Event and this time, it's a carnival for the under-privileged families from Pasir Ris. Even though work and my outside activites are keeping me very busy lately, I didn't once regret spending 4-5 hours of my Sat on this.

We (meaning me and my HCJC juniors) set up a booth where we will take photo for the families and we would print out the photo immediately for them. There wasn't any of the high-techie stuff, eg wireless transmitter, super-duper DSLR. What we had was a bit of creativity, mixed with lots of love. It was extremely satisfying to see the smiles on their faces when they collected the photo.

Specially chosen more colored photos this time.......after all, a carnival should be a cheerful event. B&W seems too melancholy...

Wilfred, Peizi and Me having a test shot before the event starts. Wow..we still look as young as when we are in JC time!! *Pukezz*

Happen to capture this "mirror-image" exhibited by 2 of the volunteers. Quite like the composition. heehee...This is what photography is to me....Capturing the moment!

One of the game booths. I also tried...but I sux at this.

It was funny seeing the children trying out the putting game...oohhh hand itch....when the hubby is back, I must go play golf again!!!

Audrey exhibiting her pedophilic-nature again hahaha...I must say my fav subject is really people, and in particular children. As compared to beautiful scenaries, children photography is so dynamic and I enjoy capturing their uncalculated, innocent, simplyyy cute expressions!!
Yesterday, a fren told me his gd fren gave birth prematurely and the baby did not survive due to the negligence of the gynae.... When I saw his eyes well up, I felt so wretched too...Life is really unfair...Hope time can heal their wounds...

Some simple dishes for the hot Singapore Weather

Alot of people have been asking me how has marriage changed my life? I would say I am a lucky gal, to have an adoring hubby who does more than his share of housework, wakes me in the morning and is my personal driver bleh!!! Hence, all in all, marriage life has been blissful.
One of our favourite past-times is to bake and cook....It's a liberation cos I can take my own sweet time in the preparation now!! Of cos, not all dishes are successful, but we are slowly becoming more efficient around the kitchen! This blog will not only showcase our photo, but also some of our proud creations .... I promise you won't get a diarrhoea hahahhaa

Limpet Salad

Ingredients: Canned Limpets cut into slices, shredded lettuce, chopped chilli, appropriate amt of lime juice & a tinge of sugar

Method of preparation: Soak the lettuce in water and put it in fridge for 1 hr or so to give it a crunchy texture. In a separate bowl, add chilli, lime juice and sugar to the canned limpets/ scallops and chill it in fridge. When you are abt to eat, pour the limpets mixture on top of lettuce. It's a very appetizing salad to have in the hot summer days. Try it!

Scallops with Bacon

Ingredients: Fresh scallops, bacon (you may replace this with sausages also), lemon juice (half a lemon) and broccoli (if you want a balanced diet!)

Method of Preparation: Add a little bit of olive oil in a pan and fry the bacon. After it's crisp, remove it. There'll be some bacon oil left in the pan. Add scallops and pan fry till cooked (cookbook says abt 1 min on each side). Then add bacon back in. After that, add the lemon juice and let it simmer a while and wala..it's ready to be served. Although it taste really good!!!, the dish tends to be a little on saltish side. So you may consider serving it with some boiled broccoli. =)

Bon Appetite!!

2 photos I liked very much...one taken in Japan and another at home. Though not taken by myself (obviously), I composed them.

Japanese Cranes

Japan is one of my all time fav country...the food, the culture, the shopping!! What's there not to like (except perhaps the high exchange rate haha..)? Instead of feeling sick of the place, my 3 weeks in Japan last Dec just gave me more reasons to go back to this beautiful country!

On the top of my list of to-dos, it has gotta be braving the cold and seeing the Japanese Cranes in Kushiro!! They are sooo elegant....Till today, I still can't forget the sense of peace while watching the birds. Hope you'll like the photo taken.

Wedding Day Photo Highlight

After 2 months, the photos and videos are finally out. Catch some of the highlights! It's done quite hastily, in less than an hour cos relatives have been asking to see it....so 请不要见怪 abt the poor quality of slideshow (nt poor quality of the photo ok?..they are most nicely taken by William Chua..my fav photographer)...

Gosh, it seems so long since my last entry!! I've been so busy with work it's crazy. Finally CNY is here. I'm so looking forward to the break!!! (only sad thing is my shoulders are soo chao ta nw and the skin peeling off...ugly!!)
