View from my room

For once in months, I reached home before the sky got completely dark. After a nice hot shower, I was settling down to watch Nigella Express when I happened to look out of my window. The colors of the evening sky is spectacular!! I believe I will sorely miss this view when I move over to my new house in future. Sometimes, the simplest joy can come from the most surprising source.....

More of Tampines Premiere

After several mnths of renovation, we can finally move on to buy furnitures/ electrical appliances and of coz, start preparation for wedding. Heeee.....

Just to share some before and after photo of the living room, balcony and kitchen (which are the only rooms we really got ard to doing up so far). Bedroom-wise, according to customs, or at least hearsay....there should be an elaborate 安床 ceremony, and the couple must not sleep on the new bed until after wedding. Sooo, we didn't bother to buy it yet. Oh well, 1 step at a time la...Next important purchase is * drum rollllzzzzz* ....mahjong table and mahjong set!!

Living Rm - Before

Balcony - Before

Foyer - After (added a big shoe cabinet and mirror at foyer. Also replaced the homogenous tiles at entrance area to a more ruggedised tile so that I can wear shoes in the house and also as a way to demarcate the space.)

Living Rm - After (as Xian-Jun prefer a more resort feel to the house, we chose earthy colors for most of the furniture. But as I love bright colors, we tried to add some colorful elements, like cushions and table runners. Still in the process of giving the house more character. As of nw...my fav has got to be the TV hehehe)

Balcony - After (chengai wood used to cover the whole balcony floor area and added some beams on ceiling to give it a more resort feel. The bamboo blinds were really useful in keeping the afternoon sun out and creating a more cosy atmosphere. Just short of some nice outdoor furniure so that we can enjoy a cup of coffee while enjoyin the swimming pool view)

Kitchen - Before (very dark and narrow space. but the cabinets were quite nicely made)

Kitchen - After (You probably can't tell from the photo, but the wall beside sink was hacked to open up the yard area. The kitchen is so muchhhhh brighter now. Also my idea to add a ledge, with the same laminate as rest of kitchen cabinet, on top of the hacked wall so that the whole design flows. We also added a window at yard area to prevent rain water from flooding the area.)

Toilet - Before (Think we got a really good buy with this DBSS as the house came furnished and we only need to do some minor improvement. Same thing for the toilet. Originally, there's a huge mirror, but very little storage space. See how we improved it in below pic)

Toilet - After (Replaced the big mirror with a smaller one and a shelf to provide more storage space. Also could not resist changing the original shower head to a rain shower......absolute bliss.....)
