Fellow Hwa Chong-ians

Been so busy for past few weekends as Xian-Jun and me have been having gatherings for family and friends at our little haven. One of the most enjoyable ones is the get-together with my JC PA/AVA kakis. It was a perfect night, with good companion, food, mahjong and gossips!!

When we were younger, we used to spend our time finding value-for-money buffets all over Singapore or playing mahjong at somebody's house. This is the first time that almost all of us made a dish!! How we have grown up !!! (luckily we all still look young hahhahahah) It was great fun trying to whip up a sumptious dinner with Vivian, Lijun and Adrian in my cosy (in other words "tiny") kitchen. Guys, thanks for the great fun and a chance to finally "launch" my mahjong table. BIG Congrats to Vivian also (for you know what hehe)

Looking forward to the next gathering already ...when we shall embark on the mission to intro gf to our beloved senior Rui-Ge!!!

Trial Make-Up @ TWP

Had my trial make-up @ TWP today!!!! First time I see such thick make-up on my face and smokey eyes (though you probably think I look more like a chipmunk with my mischievous look haha). It does take some getting used to.

Overall, it has been quite fun experience and my MUA, Gin, is a nice and patient lady. Too bad the hair didn't turn out that great. Makes me look like auntie (in my view only la), so thou shall not share it here. Hope she didn't mind my pout too much just now. :P

Anyway after today, I am very very very excited to go for my Make-Up Course (yes! I am taking make-up course!! It's partly cos I decided it's abt time I groom myself more and partly cos it cld be a 2nd career if I ever lose my job hahahaha ). Believe shd hv more funny shots to share in the near future!!!

Blueberry Buttermilk Cake

I've been baking on and off for many years, but usually I prefer to buy the hassle-free instant mix from NTUC because my dear mummy would nag and nag at my slowness from one side . hahahahha.

Now that I have my own home, I can finally practise my baking peacefully, with absolutely no worry even if I blow up the kitchen (coz my dear Xian-Jun will clean up after me *wink*). One of my latest "art pieces" is the blueberry buttermilk cake, from http://smittenkitchen.com/2009/05/raspberry-buttermilk-cake/. It is quite simple to make and very yummy. One thing I've realised over time is there's no need to be absolutely precise when it comes to cooking. Sometimes a little bit of 6th sense can produce pleasant surprises too.

Blueberry Buttermilk Cake. Can replace with rasphberry or strawberry also. I got blueberry cos it's the cheapest hahaha.....Din wanna spend so much on experiments ma. :P
